Day 01: Airport – Negombo

Arrival at Colombo International Airport and transfer to Negombo. The rest of the day is at leisure. Relax in the warm sunshine and enjoy a stroll along the soft sandy beaches. Observe the local fishing villages and the preparation of their daily catch. The evening is at leisure. This gives you a peaceful, serene start to your adventure in Sri Lanka. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 02: Negombo – Wilpattu National Park

Breakfast in Negombo. Then proceed to Wilpattu National Park. This park is famous for its untouched wilderness. The afternoon is at leisure in Wilpattu. Go on a jeep safari in the park and spot elephants, leopards, and exotic bird species. The unique natural lakes in Wilpattu give it a special beauty. Sunset photography opportunities are available in this park. The overnight stay in Wilpattu ensures a peaceful and serene night.

Day 03: Wilpattu – Anuradhapura

Start your day with an early morning safari in Wilpattu National Park. The best time to see wildlife is early in the morning. After this exciting experience, move towards Anuradhapura. It is an ancient city and the first royal capital of Sri Lanka. Visit sacred places such as Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanweliseya Stupa, and Jetavanaramaya, which exemplify historic architecture and spirituality. Spend your night in Anuradhapura. It is time to rest after an exciting day.

Day 04: Anuradhapura – Sigiriya

Begin your day by moving towards Sigiriya. It is famous for its Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The view from the top of this rock is stunning. It is both a historical and physical experience. The view from the top of this rock is breathtaking. The evening is time to visit Dambulla Cave Temple. It is famous for its murals and statues. Spend your night in Sigiriya.

Day 05: Sigiriya – Kandy via Village Experience

Start the day with a village tour near Sigiriya, including a bullock cart ride, canoe ride, and a traditional home-cooked lunch with locals. Travel onwards to Kandy, taking in the scenic countryside along the way. In the evening, enjoy a cultural dance show showcasing Kandyan traditions. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a spiritual highlight of the city. An overnight stay in Kandy ensures a restful night after a full day of cultural immersion.

Day 06: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (Hill Country)

Journey into Sri Lanka’s lush hill country, visiting a tea plantation and factory to learn about the production of world-renowned Ceylon tea. Explore the charming town of Nuwara Eliya, including Gregory Lake and colonial-era landmarks. The cool mountain air offers a refreshing change from the lowlands. Day 07: Nuwara Eliya – Ella via Scenic Train

Travel from Nuwara Eliya to Ella by the famous scenic train ride from Nanu Oya, passing misty mountains, waterfalls, and lush valleys. Upon arrival, visit the Nine Arch Bridge, a marvel of colonial architecture set amidst green tea plantations. Continue to Ravana Falls, where cascading waters create a perfect photo opportunity. Day 08: Ella – Arugam Bay

The day can start with a morning hike to Little Adam’s Peak, where one can enjoy the view of the surrounding hills. Then proceed to Arugam Bay on the east coast, a 3.5- to 4-hour drive. Once in Arugam Bay, one can simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the beach town and visit the local shops and cafes. One can simply spend the evening on the golden sands of the beach. Staying in Arugam Bay on the night will provide a good night’s sleep in a peaceful atmosphere.

Day 09: Arugam Bay – Beach & Surfing

The day can be spent simply on the pristine beach in Arugam Bay. One can also take surfing lessons if interested. One can visit Elephant Rock and enjoy the view of the setting sun. The town’s relaxed atmosphere can be enjoyed by dining at the beach cafes. One can simply spend the day on the beach and enjoy the atmosphere. Staying in Arugam Bay on this night will provide a good night’s sleep in a peaceful atmosphere.

Day 10: Arugam Bay – Kumana National Park Safari

Explore Kumana National Park with a jeep safari, renowned for its birdlife, elephants, and wild landscapes. Observe a variety of wildlife in its natural habitat, including crocodiles, monkeys, and colourful bird species. Return to Arugam Bay in the afternoon and enjoy leisure time on the beach. Day 11: Arugam Bay - Yala National Park

Today, we will head to Yala National Park, known for Sri Lanka’s leopards, elephants, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, we will go on a jeep safari to explore the park’s rugged terrain, lagoons, and open plains. We will stay at a hotel in Yala or Tissamaharama for the night. There will be free time in the evenings to reflect on the day’s events as we get close to nature.

Day 12: Yala - Galle & Unawatuna

We will visit the historic city of Galle, home to a UNESCO-listed Fort area featuring a lighthouse, ramparts, and cobblestone streets. There will be free time at nearby beaches such as Unawatuna or Jungle Beach. We will stay at a hotel in the evenings to relax and enjoy the scenery. We will stay in Galle for the night to get a comfortable night’s sleep in the southern part of Sri Lanka.

Day 13: Galle – Colombo City Tour

Depart for Colombo, enjoying the scenic coastal drive. Visit highlights including Galle Face Green, Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and Dutch Hospital precincts. Take time for shopping at local markets or upscale boutiques. Reflect on the variety of experiences from beaches to cultural landmarks during the journey. An overnight stay in Colombo provides a restful conclusion to your Sri Lankan adventure.

Day 14: Colombo – Airport

After breakfast, transfer to Colombo Airport for departure. Take with you memories of ancient cities, scenic landscapes, wildlife encounters, and serene beaches. Enjoy a final glimpse of Sri Lanka’s beauty as you leave the island. This day marks the end of an unforgettable journey filled with cultural, natural, and coastal experiences.
